Wow! I don't believe I just read that.If you have been reading the entire Indebted Series, this 4th installment will not disappoint and will stay with you long after the book is finished. If you haven't been reading it, get started NOW! This is a series where you need to start at the beginning and work your way thru it, but is definitely worthy of that commitment in time. In Fourth Debt, we get a much deeper look into the soul of Jethro and why he is the way he is. He is such a torn, tormented man.
One thing I personally disagree with the author on is the order in which the debts need to be paid. They were supposed to have started with the easiest one and then progressively get more difficult. What was done to Nila as the Second Debt is, to me, probably the ultimate worst torture that could be done to me since I have long considered that dying by that means would be the worst way to die. So, for me, even though the Third Debt is terrible, it seems easier than the Second Debt. And besides, she didn't even really have to go thru all that anyway. Whatever is in store for Nila in the Fourth Debt, and beyond, I doubt will be worse for me than the Second Debt was. But that's just me, I guess.
As the other reviewers mentioned, this book will shellshock you at the end. Yes, we pretty much know we are going to get a cliffhanger, but THIS? Seriously? No, no, no... Pepper Winters definitely knows how to reach out and grab you and leave you hanging by the seat of your pants. Well done, once again!

Third Debt Indebted Volume 4 Pepper Winters 9781511647397 Books Reviews
I love you and hate you right now Pepper! This has definitely been put on my favorite series list since I began it in December of 2014 (I think that's when I read the first two), but I have to say, these cliffs are atrocious. I'm not a patient woman and this one was truly the mother of all cliffs. I read your first two books in the Indebted series in a day, the third in a day, and this one I started last night and finished just a few minutes ago. I wanted to put this review up immediately while my blood was still boiling from what you just put me through.
Good God woman, you're killing me.
I know there are two more books coming, so I knew going into this that I was going to want to throw my kindle, but I wasn't prepared for how badly I would want to throw it at the end.
It was bad. My palm twitched and in my mind I saw it shatter. But then I wouldn't be able to get the next one when it comes out.
I don't do spoilers so I'm not going to reveal anything major but during the third debt as in the actual scene, you nearly lost me. But I learned I've got to have more faith in you. Had that scene gone any other way, I don't think I could've continued. But you made it work brilliantly, thank you.
This cliff hanger hell however, that my dear, I'm seriously upset about. That ending, good grief. I mean, we know it continues but my heart is just broken. And now with the new elements in place for "security"...oof, how are you going to pull this off? The stakes are higher now and I'm all in, but dammit, I've got to wait how long?
And please, I need Daniel, Cut and Bonnie absolutely destroyed before this ends. They need to feel pain, lots of it.
You write a deliciously dark world Ms. Pepper. And even with my fussing because the series isn't done, I'm so glad I found you. I have already, and will continue recommending you to anyone who likes their romance "outside the box." Well done. xoxo

I must confess dark romances are really not my favourite. I love my protective, dirty talking, bada$$, alphas. I'm cool with a broken or tortured hero and can even look the other way when they're of a criminal type. However, my hero has to have that redeeming moment; the moment when you know, without a doubt, that he will do anything for her. All too often, the lead male falls short for me. So how does that pertain here? Well, first, you'll get no spoilers from me. Second, I have just read the first 4 books in 4 days and honestly, I'm in awe of Pepper Winters and the tangled web she weaved. Third, the subject matter and personalities of the cast of characters is one big rollercoaster ride. Just when you think things are black and white, suddenly it's grey. Likewise, the lines between right and wrong, not to mention, good and evil, blur. Alliances are made and broken (were they ever real to begin with?). Good people do bad things, criminals can be kind and can you really trust your family? I've read 4 out of the 6 book series (all ending in cliffys) and the only things I know for sure are 1) all is not as it appears, 2) all has not been revealed and 3) I can't wait for books 5 & 6 cause this rollercoaster ride is far from over and I'm loving it.......d;)
It's official This series is my guilty pleasure.
I am actually a little embarrassed for loving this series as much as I do. The world is so far-fetched. Then the "twist" with his illness was on the pathetic side, but I don't even care. I'm that far gone. I look past the flaws and love this big beautiful mess. Even the times I want to throw my across the room, just to pick it right back up.
The ending gutted me. All I could think was that the next book is called Fourth Debt, so obviously the third debt still needs to be paid truthfully. Therefore, Nila is in for a world of pain at the hands of the two worst monsters I've read about in a long time.
On a side note, I love Kestral. His point of view was absolutely amazing. I wanted more and more! The scene between him and Nila was not only hot (Jesus, I'm a perv), but the highlight of hope in this book. During the last scene of this book I wasn't even concerned with V, all I wanted was to make sure Kestral (and Jet, obviously) was okay. He's for sure my second (sometimes first when Jet takes his pills and acts like an ass) character and I hope and pray we get more of him and more of his POV.
I just read my amazing friend Brenda's review for this, and I had no idea that the new character they introduced (Kill) would have his own spin-off. I was a big fan of him cameo in this book and cannot wait to read more about him! Well done, Mrs. Winters.
