I got my copy last Friday. It's a beautiful piece of work. I know that some made the comparison of Mikel's writings to that of Bukowski, but to me, there's a BIG difference. Some of the poems are gritty and downright brutal, yes - BUT - unlike the ugly, raw, mean-spiritedness of Bukowski, there is LOVE in Mikel's words. There is HOPE. There is HUMOR. I've been following Mikel a long time, and even though I was familiar with some of the pieces in the book, reading them over again was a delight. And that's the thing, isn't it? This is the kind of book that you will want to pick up, read a few poems, put it down...and then pick it up again, read some more and go: wow. yeah. This is good stuff.Product details

Mikel K's work is wonderful! His writings are such a great joy! Mikel is an Atlanta icon and is an award winning poet. I highly recommend buying his work.
